Cradle Hold
This position is ideal for newborns and infants up to 6 months. When placing your baby into position, be sure that there is an even amount of fabric on either side of your baby to ensure the safest possible position. Lying down, your baby’s head should be in line with your chest region. The seam of the pouch should be cradling your baby’s bottom.

|
Inward Facing Position
Appropriate for infants up to 20 lbs/9 kg and ideal for babies who prefer to be upright. Slide baby past both layers of fabric so that his/her legs extend past the bottom folded edge of the sling. Pull the innermost layer of fabric under your baby’s bottom to the back of his/her knees. Pull the outer layer of fabric over your baby’s back to just below his/her neck. To provide additional head/neck support, simply pull up the outer sling fabric to cover the back of your baby’s head.

|
Outward Facing Position
A favourite position for curious older infants from approximately 3 to 6 months. Adequate head control is a pre-requisite for carrying out this position successfully. Ensure the pouch seam of your sling is centered at the front of your body. Hold baby with his/her back to your chest. Holding baby’s feet together and with baby’s knees pointed out (imagine a seated yoga position), slide your baby down into the sling bottom first. Make sure the innermost layer of fabric is pulled up high on your baby’s back. The front layer should be pulled up to chest level.

Hip Carry Position
A wonderful position for older babies with sufficient neck and back strength (approximately 4 to 6 months). Ideal for toddlers. With the seam of your sling at your hip, slide baby down so that his/her legs extend past the folded edge of the sling bottom. At this point, adjust your baby’s legs so that they straddle your hip. Pull the innermost layer of fabric under your baby’s bottom to the back of his/her knees. Pull the outer layer of fabric over your baby’s bottom up to his/her mid back. .

Back Carry Position
Another great position for older babies and toddlers. Follow the same instructions detailed for the Hip Carry Position. Once baby is positioned comfortably at your hip, pull the front section of your sling down toward your right hip while pushing baby’s bottom toward your back. Your baby’s legs will continue to straddle your waist area. Reposition your arm in front of your baby.
